Pamela (Pam) Cornwell died March 14, 2007, in her home, after a year-long battle with lung cancer.

Born Pamela Sue Hodson on August 20, 1948, in Columbia, Mo., Pam grew up and lived most of her life in San Diego, Calif. There she had a successful career in residential real estate.

After marrying her husband, Richard E. Cornwell, in February of 2001, she moved to Paradise Valley. This move allowed Pam to spend more time with her second greatest love, her horses; and allowed her to become involved with the Wendy Paine O'Brien Center for adolescents and the Phippen Museum of Western Art in Prescott, Ariz. While not on the trail, Pam enjoyed her friends and family, traveling, boating and golf.

Pam is survived by her husband, Richard; her step-sons, Brian and Eric, and Eric's wife, Sarah of Scottsdale/Paradise Valley; mother, Bonnie and her husband, Bill Potts; and two sisters, Jeanette and her husband, Larry Tosh, and Dee and her husband Daryl Ambrose, all residing in California.

A service celebrating the life of Pam Cornwell will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, at Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent to either Hospice of the Valley, Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson, Ariz. or the Wendy Paine O'Brien Center of Banner Health, Phoenix, Ariz.

Arrangements are being made by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
