Audrey Renfro

Audrey D. Renfro, age 89, passed away at her residence in Congress on Dec. 30. She was born in Seattle Wash., and raised in the Bellevue area.

She married John Cerqui in 1938 and they made their home in Redmond, Wash. She worked during World War II as a civilian chauffer for the military in the Seattle area. She later married Alfred Renfro in 1951, making their home in Poulsbro, Wash., where she lived for years before coming to Arizona.

One of Audrey’s proud memories was having the opportunity to cook lunch for the King of Norway (King Olav) while she was employed at the Sons of Norway Lodge in Poulsbro as the kitchen supervisor.
Audrey loved to fish and spent much time salmon fishing on the inland waters in Washington.

She was preceded in death by her first husband John Cerqui in 1998 and recently by husband Alfred Renfro in 2006. She was also preceded by son James Cerqui in 1995 and a granddaughter Shannon Cerqui in 1976.

She is survived by her daughter Elly Loftin of Congress, sisters Birdie Peltier of Cave Creek, Ariz., and Irvilla Bruskland of Los Angeles, Calif. Grandchildren Christopher Cerqui, Stan, Bill, Gina, Sandy, Mona and Gary Jirak.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Poulsbro, Wash.
