Roger Kell passed away Jan. 11 after a brief illness.

Roger was born in Clinton, Iowa, March 22, 1933 and was raised in Calamus, Iowa, until 1949 when the family moved to northeast Iowa.

There he graduated from West Union High School in 1951. After working a short time for Bell Telephone, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served 20 years. Upon retiring from the military he returned to Clinton County, Iowa. He lived in Wheatland for 20 years, working as a maintenance electrician in general manufacturing plants.

He retired to Wickenburg with his wife Patsy in 1994. Though he loved the Navy, he enjoyed working part-time in several stores in Wickenburg where he made many friends and enjoyed the area.

Roger is survived by his wife Patsy and daughters Roberta and Rebecca. He was preceded in death by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Austin Briggs, mother Joyce Kell, father Sam Stumbaugh, stepfather Robert Kell, and brother, Dale Kell.

There will be a reception for friends and family on Thursday (Jan. 17) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.
