Francis W. (Frank) McDonough

Francis “Frank” W. McDonough, age 77, passed away Feb. 3 at his residence in Wickenburg. He was born in Millerton, N.D., to Francis J. McDonough and Mina Saye McDonough.

Frank was raised in the Detroit Lakes area of Minnesota. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17, retiring after 21 years of service as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer E9. He married Lillian Bright in 1956.

Following his military service they made their home in Santa Rosa, Calif., where Frank worked as an electrician for various companies prior to moving to Arizona in 1993, settling in Wickenburg.

Frank was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Hassayampa Yacht Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian on Aug. 8, 2000 and is survived by his brother Donald McDonough of Rohnert Park, Calif.; brother and his companion Richard McDonough and Wilma Hodges of Rio Rancho, N.M.; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Louis Bonato of Apple Valley, Calif.; sisters Irene Hersom of Side Lake, Minn.; Doris Duenow of Crystal, Minn.; Jean Robertson of Seal Beach, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Saturday (Feb. 16) at 2 p.m. at the Rancher Bar in Wickenburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory.
