Robert J. Cousins Sr., born April 2, 1931 in Oelwein, Iowa, died Jan. 29 in Wickenburg, Ariz. He was the son of Albert and Floy (Hockaday) Cousins.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the American Legion in Minnesota and Arizona. He was also one of the elite 40/8 serving as the Grand Chef de Gare in 1981-1982, as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a long time resident of Moorhead, Minn.

He worked for Clay County. He also was a bridge engineer, when he retired to Wickenburg, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Glen Cousins.

When he came to Arizona he met his significant other Jayne Johnson and her family.

Bob loved to be out on the lake. He also was a golfer, among other sports, with Jayne.

After a long illness he is at peace with the Lord. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday (Feb.14) at the Kellis Draper Post 12 in Wickenburg.
