David H. Palmer, Jr.

David H. Palmer Jr. passed away on April 4, 2014. He was born Nov. 13, 1948, in Prescott, Ariz., the son of the late David Palmer Sr. and Grace Palmer.

David has been a life-long resident of Prescott. He was a dedicated athlete, running for most of his life competitively and for fun. During his life, he was a writer, a poet, and a journalist before receiving his J.D. in 1981 from the University of Arizona. He had a private law practice for many years in Prescott. However, his true passion was the outdoors. David traveled across the southwest to raft down various rivers including the Colorado, the San Juan and the Verde rivers.

David is survived by his mother Grace Palmer; sons Jordan and Hayden; sisters Beth Furstenthal and Ann Olsen; brother Mike Palmer; and girlfriend Maria Adler.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Unity Church of Prescott. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Yavapai Humane Society, 1625 Sundog Ranch Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Private services will take place at a later date.
