Fatal Injuries To Pete Mackin

(From Tuesday's Daily)

Death came to Pete Mackin Sunday evening at Mercy hospital, from injuries he received at the Storm Cloud mine on Tuesday in being run over by a boiler that he was removing to another location. He was fatally injured internally, while many fractures occurred to his leg and hip.

Blood poisoning developed immediately and owing to the many injuries received, medical skill was unavailable.

Mr. Mackin had been a resident of this county for many years, making his home on Groom creek, where he freighted in and out of mines adjacent. His habits were industrious and he was known as an exemplary citizen.

He is survived by a widow and seven children, and a brother James Mackin who arrived yesterday from the coast, having been summoned when hope was abandoned for his recovery.

The funeral takes place this morning from the Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock and burial be given in Mountain View cemetery.
