| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 16, 2008, p. A9 Sarah Kerkes Roehlk, 86, passed away April 5. Sarah was born January 22, 1922 in Golden State, Ariz., to Milan and Anika Kerkes. Sarah resided in Wickenburg and Phoenix until her marriage when she moved to Pendleton, Ore. She returned to Phoenix and was employed by the Phoenix Union High School System until her retirement. Sarah was known for her sense of humor and famous cinnamon rolls. Preceding her in death was her son Paul Roehlk and an infant daughter. Sarah is survived by her son Michael Roehlk, granddaughter Andrea Nemitz, sister Annie Passey, eight nieces in Arizona and nieces and nephews in Pendleton, Ore. Visitation services were held on Friday (April 11) at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103’ Ave., Sun City, Ariz. Burial will be in Pendleton, Ore. See Also: Find A Grave |
