Joe (Chayo) De Anda

Joe “Chayo” De Anda, 90, of Claypool, passed away March 27, 2009.

He owned and operated De Anda's Produce for 26 years, serving the Globe, Miami and San Carlos area. In 1969, “Chayo” helped in establishing the Guzman Construction Company, locally, and worked there for 12 years. He was instrumental in several projects at Roosevelt Dam. He helped start the Copper Hills Bowling establishment in 1958. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Elks Lodge and Knights of Columbus. “Chayo” enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Mourning his loss are his beloved wife of 70 years, Elsie; daughters Betty, Anita (Joe), Virginia (Gary), Patsy (Carlos), Joanne (Michael); and 1 son J.R. (Vicki); 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a surviving sister Juanita Parsons of Calif.

Services will be held in Miami, on Thursday, April 2. Visitation is from 9 a.m.-9:30 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church.

Burial to follow at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens. Arrangements will be handled by Miles Funeral Services Miami. Dad, we love you and will miss you greatly.
