He was born in Ramah, New Mexico on Feb. 17, 1930 to Jewel Ault and Nellie Easter Medlock. As a young man, he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. Mr. Medlock became good friends with many of the wonderful people with whom he worked and he loved fishing, especially on his boats, and he spent a lot of time in Mexico trying to catch “the big one that got away.”

He also enjoyed golf and bowling and thinking up new gadgets. One of his many inventions was the “TacoMate,” which was sold here locally in the old Smitty’s stores.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years Dona May Medlock, sister Jan Janell Albert (Guy), brother Sidney Medlock (Lavon), sons Steven Medlock-Bonham (Gail) and Michael Medlock, daughters Sheryl Medlock (Darrell) and Patricia Raber (Jeff), and stepsons Dwayne Pogue (Cori) and David Pogue (Denise), and stepdaughter Diana Morgan, as well as grandchildren Samatha, Joshus, Andie, Jacob, Kristin, Shelly, Ashley, Kate, David, Timothy, K.C., Jake and great grandchildren Ally, Alyssa and Candice, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Medlock leaves behind a large family and many friends. He was a kind, caring and gentle man who was loved by many and he will be greatly missed.

A family graveside service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 23020 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3. A celebration of his life memorial service will be held at Calvary Community Church in the chapel located at 12612 N. Black Canyon Hwy. (I-17 between Cactus and Thunderbird Road) at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 3. A fellowship dinner for all will immediately follow the memorial in the fellowship hall at the same location.
