Norman Albert Buelow was born in Montevideo, Minn. on Aug. 23, 1933, to Lawrence and Elsie (Bubolz) Buelow. He received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sept. 3, 1933, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He was confirmed there May 1948.

On July 8, 1956, he married Duveen Kutz at St. Paul's. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1956 to July 1958. Following his service in the army, he started a restaurant supply and equipment business in Montevideo. He owned and managed that business for 30 years. There in Montevideo, he and his wife raised two children, Linda and Paul. After selling the business, he went into semi-retirement in Bemidji, Minn., and worked part time for Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1997, he and his wife Duveen retired to Prescott, Ariz. Throughout his adult life, Norman lived out his faith as a dedicated church worker.

Norman and Duveen have been members of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Prescott Valley since 2002. There, Norman served as Evangelism chairman and Stewardship chairman and taught Vacation Bible School.

He is survived by Duveen, his wife of 57 years. He also leaves a son Paul Buelow of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter Linda (Tom) Mikelson of Willmar, Minn.; granddaughter Christine; and sister Helen Joyce Paulsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Lawrence; and his grandson, Adam.

Revelation 2:10 tells us: "Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life." The Lord gave Norman the crown of life on May 11, 2014, at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo, Minn. Memorials may be donated to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3300 N. Navajo Drive, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 or Martin Luther College, 1995 Luther Ct., New Ulm, MN 56073.
