LEONARD GRISWOLD DIES IN ARIZONA

Leonard L. (Charlie) Griswold, whose early life was spent in Madison county, died Thursday, March 21, at Phoenix, Ariz., where he had lived since 1960. He was 67 years of age.

Mr. Griswold was born in this county Aug. 19, 1900, a son of Orville and Mabel Griswold. He was married to Orah Whitworth Hudson in 1932. They made their home in Winterset for several years before moving to Des Moines where he was employed by Globe Machine company.

His wife and a foster son, Jim Hudson, preceded him in death. He is survived by three brothers, Clarence Griswold of Creston, Carl Griswold of Kearney, Nebr., and Ralph Griswold of Pasadena, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Nell Walter of Lenox, Mrs. Nina McKinzie of Winterset and Mrs. Pearl Warnock of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Lee Kivett. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
