David A. Kahne, age 65, passed away April 1, 2009, at his home in Prescott. He was born Aug. 4, 1943, in South Haven, Mich.

He received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University.

Dave entered the U.S. Navy and attended Officer Candidate school and attained the rank of Lt. JG during his service in the Vietnam War.

Dave retired from the federal government where he worked in Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Customs Service.

He enjoyed RVing with his wife in the west, which he loved.

He was an active volunteer for the Sharlot Hall Museum, the Phippen Museum, the Arizona Attorney General's office and the BlackJack Ridge Road Committee.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; son Brian and daughter-in-law Gina; and granddaughter Erika. He is also survived by his brother, Steve.

A celebration of Dave's life will take place at a later date.
