John A. Lewallen, 82, of Mayer passed away on March 29, 2009, in Prescott Valley.

He was born in Kentucky and served in the Navy during World War II. He also served in the Coast Guard and Coast Guard reserves. John was a devoted son, husband and father, and spent his life taking care of others.

He is preceded in death by Rosanne, his beloved wife of over 50 years. He is survived by his daughters Dawn Bush, Cheryl Hinkes (husband Michael), Tracy Roe (husband David) and Gail Reece (husband Jerry). John was a proud grandfather to Jason, Christopher, Nathan, Brian, Kaitlin and Stephanie; and great-grandfather to 14.

In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to Yavapai Meals on Wheels (Mayer chapter) and/or the Mayer Senior Center. P.O. Box 883, Mayer, AZ 86333 (Attn: Nancy).

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the Spring Valley Community Church, 18955 Spring Lane, Spring Valley, with Pastor Meador officiating at the service.

Inurnment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.
