| Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Patricia Belden July 11, 2014 On Friday, July 11, 2014, Patricia K. Belden, 84, of Green Valley, Arizona, died peacefully at La Posada retirement community. A beloved and accomplished woman who lived chapters of her life in Louisiana, California, Connecticut and Arizona, Pat was deeply devoted to her large family and many friends, and dedicated to sharing her knowledge and good taste with clients during her successful career as an interior designer. Pat was the proprietor of the Belden & Company design studio and furniture store in Tucson, and a past President and professional member of the Arizona South Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Born on December 30, 1929, in New Orleans, Pat was the daughter of John D. Klorer, a newspaper editor who later became a screenwriter in Hollywood, and Kathleen Wade Klorer. After graduating from Beverly Hills High School and studying interior design at UCLA, Pat opened her first design studio on the Sunset Strip while still in her early twenties. In 1954, she married Robert D. Belden, an advertising executive, and in 1960 they moved to Wilton, CT, where they raised their five children. In 1985, Pat and Bob moved to La Paloma in Tucson; she opened Belden & Company a year later. She moved to Quail Creek in Green Valley in 2004, where she continued to do design work and enjoyed spending time with friends and playing competitive bridge. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bob and her brother Jack Klorer (Valerie), Pat is survived by her sister Iris Craddock (Roger) of Los Angeles; brother Thomas Klorer (Mary) of Redlands CA; her five children, Robert (Janice) of Brookfield CT, Michael (Maureen) of Guilford CT, Kathleen Schoff of Annapolis MD, Julia Culver (Andrew) of Naperville IL, and Elizabeth Fitzgerald of Tucson, as well as 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Pat will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd., Tucson, Wednesday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to ASID Arizona South, P.O. Box 57155, Tucson AZ 85732, to benefit the Patricia Belden Student Enrichment Fund. |
