Irma Alicia de la Vega was born on January 24, 1957 in Agua Prieta, Sonora and passed away April 30, 2011 in Tucson, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her father Jose Jesus Aruffe, sister Beatriz Prieto and grandfather Alfredo Villaescusa. Surviving Irma are her husband Alfonso de la Vega of 35 years. Surviving also are sons Alfonso (Veronica) de la Vega, Ricardo (Iris) de la Vega, mother Norma Alicia Villaescusa and her grandmother Mercedes Villaescusa. She leaves behind her sisters Norma Hernandez, Laura Ortega, Elena Aruffe, Marina Aruffe. She also has her loving grandchildren Esmeralda, Karina and Sofia de la Vega.

Irma was well known in the community. She was a teachers assistant at Faras elementary. She had also worked for Banco Ganadero, and Capins. She loved her grandchildren, knitting and was dedicated to her students at Faras elementary school.

Rosary will be Friday, May 6, 2011-7:00 PM at Alex Espinosa Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, May 7, 2011-10:30 AM, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Pirtleville. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Pirtleville. Pallbearers are Alfonso de la Vega, Alfonso de la Vega Jr, Ricardo de la Vega, Luis Ortega, Antonio Ortega and Alejandro Ortega. Honorary pallbearers are Oscar Mariscal, Oscar Romero, Eduardo Romero Molina, Alfonso Salinas, Denin Hermosillo and Rosendo Ortega. Care entrusted to Alex Espinosa Funeral Homes, 364-2121, Alex Espinosa Funeral Director.
