Deceased Name: Manuel R. Vega
Mr. Manuel R. Vega, passed away January 17, 2002 at the Southeast Arizona Medical Center.

Mr. Vega was born January 23, 1926 in Pilares de Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico. He had been a local resident for the past 43 years and was a mason in construction.

Mr. Vega was a volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul Society for many years, was an active Cursillista and a member of St. Luke's Eucharistic ministry serving St. Luke's and the prison.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabel Vega.

Surviving are his children, Hortencia Vega and Bertha (Jesus) Moreno of Douglas, Rosa (Efrain) Gonzales of Tucson, Manuel (Evangelina) Vega of Douglas and Jose (Evelyn) Vega of California; brother, Juan Vega of Cananea, Sonora; sisters, Ramona Navarro of Cananea, Sonora, Genoveva Vega of Hermosillo, Sonora, and Ignacia Vega of Phoenix, Az.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A rosary was recited Friday evening at the Funeraria El Pueblo in Agua Prieta, Sonora. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Sunday, January 20, 2002 in Cananea, Sonora with burial to follow at the Severiano Moreno Cemetery in Cananea.
