Edna Earl (Hill) Nowlin

Edna Earl Nowlin, 83, died July 1, 2014 in Arizona City where she resided. Mrs. Nowlin was born Jan. 7, 1931 in Antlers, Okla. to Earl and Roxie Hill.

She proudly raised six girls, Cindy Hyde, Janet Hamm, Charlene Underwood, Joyce Nowlin Trampe, Suzette Willis and Frankie Stambaugh, two boys, Michael and Richard Nowlin; and two grandchildren, Tammy Baker and Travis Navarre. She loved her 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful wife to Charles L. Stambaugh for 20 years and had six girls. She remarried in 1968, to Ronald W. Nowlin, and was a faithful wife to him for 46 years. They had a son and were granted guardianship of another. She and Ron were active members of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Florence, Show Low and Chandler for many years. She gave generously of her time to family and the community, being active in VFW, Blue Birds, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and other organizations. She was know for her smile, kisses, hugs, laughter, dancing and praising the Lord at Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and former husband; brother Roy L. Hill; daughter, Janet Hamm; and grandson Jeffery Tuttle.

The celebration of life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 22 in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

Donations may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Valley.
