John H. Priesthoff, 84, of Chino Valley, born Nov. 6, 1920, in Kokomo, Ind., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Prescott.

Celebration of life services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Chino Valley Funeral Home Chapel.

John Howard Priesthoff peacefully passed away in Prescott on March 6, 2005, with his family by his side. Born in Kokomo, Ind., in 1920, John graduated with a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Iowa, after serving in the Navy during WWII. He worked for Eastman Kodak for 28 years, retiring as a Technical Service Supervisor in Hollywood, Calif., in 1980.

John and his wife, Pat, moved to Whidbey Island, Wash., in 1986, where he continued his artistic pursuits in oil painting, stone and woodcarving, and clay sculpting. In 2000, they moved to a sunnier climate, making their home in Chino Valley. For the last five years, John was able to actively enjoy gardening, fishing and his art.

John is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Patricia; his sister, Natalie Carney; his daughters, Victoria Vanderhorst and Janet Taylor; and son, Stephen Priesthoff. He will be fondly remembered by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his first son, John Howard Priesthoff II.
