Dr. Arthur Clifford (Cliff) Woolard

Dr. Arthur Clifford “Cliff” Woolard passed away Aug. 20, 2014 in
Cottonwood, Ariz. at the impressive age of 100. He was born in
Bridgeport, Conn. May 1, 1914 to Arthur Thomas and Sarah Woolard. He
attended the Junior College of Connecticut in Bridgeport and the
National College of Chiropractic in Chicago.

He married his first bride of 42 years Madelon Stamm in San Francisco in
1942. Enlisting in the Navy and participating in the invasion of Tarawa
in 1943 as combat corpsman and first class pharmacists mate. He was
honorably discharged from the military in 1945, and entered the practice
of chiropractic in 1946 in Owatonna, Minn. where he built the practice
of Chiropractic Health Service, PA. After Madelon passed in 1984, he
retired to Lake Havasu City, at the young age of 70.

In 1986 he married Francis Parker Woolard and they lived together in
Seattle, Wash. and Lake Havasu City for the next twelve years until her
death in 1998.

In 1999, he married Alma Heinzel Woolard and they lived in Lake Havasu
City for six years until her death in 2005.

Traveling extensively in the United States and abroad throughout his
lifetime, he toured more than 22 countries.

He was commander of the VFW Post in Owatonna, Minn., a member of the
Elks for more than 60 years and a member of the Eagles. He served as
president of the National College of Chiropractic Alumni Association and
a member of the executive committee of the college. He was a charter
member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Minnesota
Chiropractic Association.

He was survived by a son Mark Woolard of Chicago; two daughters, Connie
(Gary) Schroht of Baxter, Minn., Sara Ahern of Clarkdale, Ariz.; and
three grandchildren, Marnie (Edward) Humeniuk of Rush City, Minn. Cyrus
Schroht of Brainerd, Minn. and Ian Shoemaker of Tempe, Ariz.; and two
great-grandchildren.
