Visitation Wed, Nov. 7, 2001, 6 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Rosary 7 p.m., Services Thurs, Nov. 8, 2001, 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Superior, Ariz. ------------------------ Mary Jessie Chavez Duarte, 70, of Superior, passed away during the early morning hours of Nov. 6, 2001. She was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Superior to Felix and Maria Chavez, the eighth of their nine children. In 1949, she married Ruben Duarte and they were together for 51 years until his untimely death earlier this year. Together they brought into this world and raised seven children. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children and family, her warmth, laughter and great, caring heart. Left behind in loving memory are her children, Ruby (Randy Maldonado), Martha (Candelario) Guzman, Andrea (Matthew) Kipp, all of Superior, Fred (Bobra) Duarte of Kansas City, Missouri, Anita (Bob) Groves of California, Dolores (Mike) Groves of California and Ruben (Christine) Duarte of Globe; brothers, Ramon (Yolanda) Chavez and Ernesto Garcia; a sister, Mary Lou (Tony) Acosta; and 29 grandchildren. A Rosary for Mrs. Duarte was held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, Nov. 8, also at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery in Superior. Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Duarte were handled by Miles Mortuary in Miami. Published 15 November 2001. |
