Alice Zoeller went home to her Lord on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, following
a long illness. She was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in North Little Rock,
Ark., where she graduated from North Little Rock High School. She earned
her degree in education from Bethany College in Oklahoma and then
returned to North Little Rock to teach for several years. She later
accepted a position with the Morenci, Ariz., school district and then
eventually relocated to Kingman, where she taught English at Kingman
Junior High School from 1969 until retirement in 1989.

She was admired for her tough, no-nonsense teaching style, which was
appreciated by many former students who came back to visit Mrs. Zoeller
and tell her that, because of her, they had succeeded in high school
and/or college.

Alice was also well known for her generosity as she supported numerous
charities, especially her church and animal causes. She was an active
member of the Kingman Area School Retirees Association and held the
office of president at one time.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Zora Martin;
sisters, Birdie McCaul and Jeanette Wilson; and one brother, George B.
Martin.

She is survived by one nephew, John R. Inman, and a great niece, Carleen
Richard, of Holiday Island, Ark.

She will be buried in her hometown of North Little Rock at Edgewood
Memorial Park Cemetery. No services are being planned.
