Mohave Valley Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Sept. 7 to Sept. 14, 2014 - Heather Anne Huntington, age 41, was granted her angel wings on Friday, August 29, 2014. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Heather had touched in some small way through her short, yet very memorable life. Heather's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Heather was born in Pt. Pleasant, N.J. on September 22, 1972, she moved to California in 1989, where she completed her senior year at Redondo Beach High School. Moving on to university, Heather held a Master's Degree in Language Arts. Heather's love of fashion and travel was evident to all of her family and friends. We were fortunate that even in her adult life she enjoyed our family vacations to many parts of the world. Always a kind heart, with a gentle smile, Heather, devoted her life to giving unto others. An exceptional teacher, she touched the lives of so many students. Heather volunteered her time and creativity with many local organizations, assisted living facilities. Heather was an active member of the Lewis Kingman Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Along with other committee contributions she served for three years as the Regent's Page. Because of her outstanding service and leadership ability she was endorsed by the Arizona State Regent and granted early eligibility by the State DAR Board of Directors to be elected to the office of Vice Regent in 2013; additionally serving as the chapter Program Director. Heather participated in the chapter Literacy Program for school children and took an active part in DAR Community Service collecting food and clothing for the Kingman Food Bank. She served on the Project Patriot Committee assisting with the mailing of care packages to those in Harm's Way. The DAR Service to Veterans Committee however, was Heather's primary interest devoting countless hours distributing food and clothing to local homeless veterans, participating in the Bullhead City Stand- down, and attending veterans burial and memorial services recurrently. Heather was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Anne Arnold. Heather is survived by her parents, Bob and Linda Huntington; grandparents, Charley and Toni (Ida) Hupp; and numerous friends and family. At her request no service will be held. A private celebration of her life will be held for those who were close to her. Now a bright star in the sky, she will be missed, but not forgotten. We are forever grateful to the Hospice of Havasu for making our daughters transition peaceful, comfortable, and with dignity. Donations may be made in Heather's name to: Hospice of Havasu, 365 S.
