Mohave Valley Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Sept. 7 to Sept. 14, 2014 - Connie Messmer, age 87, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 in Bullhead City, Ariz. of complications from Alzheimer's. Born Maria Concepcion Fernandez on December 8, 1926 in El Paso, Texas. She was born the tenth of eleven children. Connie was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and spent many hours volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul during her residence here in Bullhead City. She also enjoyed working for the Bullhead City School District in the 1990's to early 2000's Connie is survived by two sons, Tom (Missy) Messmer of Ft Mohave, Ariz. and Tim Messmer of Corpus Christi, Texas; two daughters, Jackie (Anthony) Lucero of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Barbara (Brad) Wise of Bellflower, Calif.; her brother, Ralph Fernandez of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Vickye Lee of Riverside, Calif.; six granddaughters; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and their extended families. May she know she will be missed & was loved by all. A mass is scheduled at 10:15 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church in her honor. All who wish are welcome to attend. Connie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Howard E Messmer at Riverside National Cemetery in Calif. on Friday, September 19, 2014. In lieu of flowers the family has requested any donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Vincent de Paul. See Also: Find A Grave |
