Regina "Gina" Marie Montoya died unexpectedly at home on Sept. 8, 2014, in Idaho Springs, Colo., at the age of 53.

Gina is survived by her mother, Lee Carney (Clark) of Prescott, Ariz.; husband Ronald Montoya of Idaho Springs, Colo.; children Lindsey Parker (husband Charles) and Brandon Montoya and granddaughter Lilyana Montoya, all of Prescott; and siblings Diane, Margaret, Patrick, Dorothy, Eileen, Theresa, LeeAne, Mary Ellen and Paulette.

Gina is preceded in death by her father, Tom Carney, and her brother Tom Jr., both of Prescott.

Gina was a wonderful young woman who was inspired to create and produce crafts and master recipes, which she shared with loved ones. She enjoyed the happiness it brought to others. She once made 110-dozen tamales for her high school reunion from her mother-in-law's recipe.

All who met Gina came to know her genuine cheerfulness and sincerity. Gina never tired of giving of herself in spite of her 25-plus years of battling severe diabetic issues. She will be forever missed by everyone with whom she came in contact, especially by her husband, who was her caregiver, best friend and constant companion for over 36 years.

There will be no services. In support of life, Gina desired her body be donated to advance medicine through Science Care, a whole body donor and research program.

A memorial service will be held in the future.
