Waunita Swetnam
1921 - 2014

On a spring day, April 11th, 1921, in Darksville, Missouri, Charlie and Ruby Gaines welcomed the third of their seven children into the world. She was a little girl they named Waunita. Waunita went home to be with the Lord, September 4, 2014, at ninety-three years of age.

Waunita was married to Bill Swetnam for sixty eight years when he passed away March 8, 2008. Both Bill and Waunita were active members of the First Southern Baptist Church of Camp Verde for the eighteen years they lived there.

Waunita worked for many years in the Cafeteria at Cerritos Junior College in Norwalk, Calif. She loved interacting with the college students each day.

Waunita is survived by her three children, Charles Swetnam of Tubac Az, Bruce ( Nancy) Swetnam of Yreka, Ca and Louise Ellis ( Bob) of Coronado Island, Calif. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life service for Waunita by her family in the coming weeks.
