| The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Friday, September 12, 2014 William “Bill” Armstrong U.S. Veteran William “Bill” Armstrong passed Sept. 7, 2014 of heart failure at the age of 89. He lived in Payson from 1999 to 2010 and was a very active member of the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. His wife of 57 years, Annie Armstrong, passed Sept. 7, 2000 in Payson. He began his Navy career as a deep-sea diver and retired 28 years later as a Master Chief E9. He was a generous man who lived a life full of friends, admiration, risk, accomplishments, travel and adventure. As he would put it, with a twinkle, his mates have called him back to his beloved Ships and Sea to join them on the next quest. He will be truly missed by family and friends. |
