| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ Feb. 19, 1997 Fred L. Leisering of Wickenburg. died Feb. 12 in Wickenburg. He was 85. Mr. Leisering was born Oct. 9. 1911 in Organ. NM. He lived most of his life in Arizona - 77 years - in Wickenburg, coming to the state by train from New Mexico at age 8 to Hillside, and then on to Peeples Valley by wagon. He rode burros to and from school. Mr. Leisering's first job was with the Hays Cattle Co., and in later years he worked for numerous mines throughout Arizona. He retired in 1974 from the San Manuel Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Katherine Leisering. of Wickenburg; daughter Cletus Barnes of Circle City; sister Babe Rubash of Wickenburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Feb, 17 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg. Pastor Gary Golike officiated. Burial followed in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Contributions in Mr. Leisering's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
