Robert James Fenderson, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Solterra Assisted Living Center in Lakeside. He was born Jan. 4, 1931 in Bisbee to William C. and Genevieve Fenderson.

Robert was a member of the Elks Lodge in Show Low; helping the “Clothe a Child” program and was also affectionately known as “Bingo Bob” for his work with the bingo nights. He was also a member of the American Legion in Show Low. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He loved to hunt and fish. He belonged to St. Francis Catholic Church. Robert owned and retired from Bobs Welding and Radiator in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

He was married to Gloria Ann Echave Fenderson for 57 years; she preceded him in death in December 2013.

He is survived by two children: Frances (Benny) Reeves and Willie (Janet) Fenderson. A brother: Jim Fenderson and a sister Joanne; and his grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Gloria, a son Robert W. Fenderson and a daughter Donna Chandler.

A niche side memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Angel’s Rest Columbarium, 1915 So. Penrod Road in Pinetop. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Bob’s honor to St. Frances Church, 9 West Elm Street, Whiteriver, AZ 85941.
