Roland D. Dudden Sr., 86, of Prescott went home to his Lord and Savior on Sept. 20, 2014.

He is survived by LaVine, his loving wife of 65 years; daughter Renee; son Dean and his wife Stacie; and three grandchildren Eric, Shauna and Krista. Roland is also survived by his sister Donna Ralston of Grundy Center, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery and parents Tim and Dot Dudden.

Roland was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Grundy Center, Iowa and married LaVine on Sept. 14, 1949. He served in the Air Force for eight years before starting a publishing business in 1959. The Dudden's operated a weekly shoppers' guide, The Livewire, in Vinton, Iowa until moving to Prescott in 1976, where they owned The Stockroom office supply in downtown Prescott and Cottonwood until 1993. After retirement, Roland volunteered at the Prescott Valley police department where he endeared the office staff by filing paperwork a few hours a week.

Roland was known by family, friends and all whom he came in contact with, as a gentle man with a great sense of humor and a persuasive positive attitude. Even as his last eight years were challenged by major medical complications; when asked how he was his favorite reply was "I'm perfect."

As long time members of the American Lutheran Church located at 1085 Scott Drive in Prescott, a celebration of life shall take place there at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Hospice of the Pines in Dewey. And yes Dad, you are forever "Perfect."

Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhome.com to visit and sign the guestbook.
