James (Jim) Henningsen

James “Jim” Henningsen passed away Sept. 23, 2014 at the age of 89.
He was born on April 4, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late, James
and Rose Henningsen. Jim grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa then spent twenty
years in Arvada, Colorado. He settled in Lake Havasu City in 1982.


His lifetime career was as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service. Jim was
a radioman in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean War.
He was active duty in Pacific. He was a member of the Elks and the Moose
clubs. He loved cruises, fishing, camping. He was an easygoing, faithful
man, “just an all-around good guy.”

He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is preceded in death by both his parents; wife of 30 years, Doris
Henningsen, and wife of five years, Laverne Henningsen; and two
children, Barbara Rose Shead-Rice and Melinda Lou Henningsen.
He is survived by two sons, James R. Henningsen Jr., of Hartville,
Missouri and Patrick J. Henningsen, of Denver, Colorado, as well as,
four grandchildren, and girlfriend, Jo Toney.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home &
Crematory.
