Edward Campbell Velner

Edward Campbell Velner “Fast Eddie”, passed away Oct. 12, 2014 at the
age of 76. Edward was born July 31, 1938 in Minneapolis. He is the son
of the late Edward Donald and the late Ada (Campbell) Velner.

Edward served the U.S. Navy from August 1956 to August 1960, where he
received an honorable discharge as an electricians mate on the “USS
Philippine Sea” CVS-47.

Edward and wife Carol were wed Jan. 16, 1959, in Long Beach, Calif. In
October of 1979 Edward and Carol made their way to Lake Havasu City from
Encinitas, Calif. where he worked for Van Rooy Plumbing for 18 years,
until his retirement in 2000.

Edward was an avid golfer and enjoyed his free time playing horseshoes.
He enjoyed many years of waterskiing, fishing and family outings on the
Lake. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Roman Church, as
well as the Eagles and the Elks.

Edward is survived by three daughters, Jeannine (Steve) Henschel of
Vista, Calif., Deborah (Larry) Born of Lake Havasu City, Teresa Velner
of Lake Havasu City; sisters, Marsha (Jerry) Buerge of Torrance, Calif.,
Jennifer Martin of Redondo Beach, Calif.; brothers, Jim (Dixie) Velner
of Lake Havasu City and Mark (Gayle) Velner of Torrance, Calif. He also
leaves behind five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Edward was preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 47 years; his
parents, Edward and Ada Velner and one grandchild.

His wonderful smile, big heart, warm hugs and great sense of humor will
be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Havasu in
memory of Edward. (365 S. Lake Havasu Ave., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.)

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
