Leonard Alchesay Sr.
(April 30, 1941 - October 13, 2014)

Leonard Alchesay Sr., surrounded by loved ones, entered into eternal rest October 13, 2014 in Whiteriver, Arizona. He was born April 30, 1941 to Archie and Ester (Truax) Alchesay. Leonard grew up in Carrizo.

He had a deep love for the forest. He retired after 43 years of service from the BIA Forestry, Housing Authority and also the Weatherization Program. He was a humble man, generous, very encouraging, well-prepared and comical person. He has touched the lives all whom he interacted with. We will all miss him but are reassured we will have a happy reunion one day.

Leonard left behind his wife of 52 years: Caroline Alchesay; his Children: Nathaniel, Lamberta, Alexander, Leonora, Leonard Jr., Arthur, Antone , Glenda; Sisters: Annie Tessay, Almira Alchesay, Romalda Colelay; Brothers: Norbert Alchesay and Aljolson Ethelbah Jr.

He is preceded in death by his Parents: Archie and Esther Alchesay; Sons: Larold Alchesay, Lareck Alchesay, Robert Alchesay; Brothers: Morris Alchesay and Lenzo Alchesay Sr.

A one night wake will begin Saturday October 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at his residence 417 South 1st Avenue, Whiteriver Arizona. Funeral services will be on Sunday October 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Canyon Day Assembly of God Church with Rev. Marvin Begay Officiating. Interment will be at the Canyon Day Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Silver Creek Mortuary.
