Lucille "Lou" Emma Quist Jeppson was born on Jan. 6, 1918, in Los Angeles, Calif., to parents Claus and Signe Quist.

She was a loving wife to Harman A. Jeppson and they were married for 52 years before his passing in 1995. She was the first generation Californian; her parents were born in Sweden and Lou was a proud member of the North Star Lodge/Vasa Order of America for 70 plus years like her parents before her. For most of her life, she lived in California, but spent her last years in Arizona.

In her 96 years of life, Lou worked, before her marriage, at Van de Kamp's Bakery, and after raising her children, she worked at May Company, but her favorite job was being the Matriarch of her family. To those who loved her, she had many titles: Mom, Ma, Grandma, Granny, Gram, Golden Grams, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She loved to cook and bake for her family and she would almost always win in a game of cards, especially poker. Sewing, specifically cross-stitching, was another favorite hobby of hers.

Lou is survived by her three children, Ted and Sue Jeppson, Kenneth and Beverly Jeppson and Connie and Victor Rinaldi (Jeppson); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She will forever be loved and never forgotten.

There will not be a service and her ashes will be scattered in the mountains. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Family Care in Prescott, Ariz. for their compassion and support during her last days.

Arrangements by Sunrise Funeral Home.

Legacy of Love

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,

This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.
