Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, October 23, 2014 - Russell (Russ) T. Cottingham passed away Oct. 22, 2014 in Escondido, Calif. He was born Oct. 2, 1926 in Reader, Ark. Russ moved to Lake Havasu City with his wife Bonnie, in 2001 from Arnold, Mo., where they lived for 35 years. Russ and Bonnie were married in 1946 while Russ was serving in the Navy. At the end of World War II, Russ continued his enlistment with the Navy until retiring in 1963 at the age of 37. Following Naval retirement, Russ worked for the U.S. government in a civilian capacity at DMAC in St. Louis, until retiring in 1988. During his 66-year marriage to Bonnie, they raised four children and were blessed with three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Russ was preceded in death by his son, Mike Cottingham and his loving wife of 66 years, Bonnie Cottingham. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Drinnin, Liz Nelson and Ruth Cottingham-Steele; his son-in-laws, Ron Drinnin, Mike Nelson and Michael Steele; his grandchildren, Laura Smith, April Drinnin and Chris Drinnin; his great-grandchildren, Randy Webb, Ryan Kitson, Hannah Drinnin, Devin Smith, Karlie Drinnin, Kevin Johnson and Mason Drinnin, and his dear companion of the past year, Ann VanderLaan. Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday at Fey Funeral Home, 4100 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63129. |
