While raising his children, he worked for United Airlines, where he was eventually promoted to supervisor, and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.

Their family moved to Burlington, Wisconsin in 1972 and lived there until 1988, when they moved to Wickenburg, Arizona. After getting settled here, he became a member of the Wickenburg American Legion Post 12. He also volunteered at the Wickenburg High School, where he restarted and taught the automotive program, teaching students valuable mechanic and automobile maintenance skills.
