John Shedrick Hardee

John S. Hardee, Jr., 79, of Morristown, died March 9. Mr. Hardee was born in Phoenix on Oct. 28, 1921.

He graduated from Morristown School and Phoenix Union High School.

He was a Tech/5 Sgt. In the U. S. Army from May 1944 to Mat 1946. The many medals and decoration awarded to him include the Bronze Star; two Purple Hearts, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Army Invasion Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal.

Mr. Hardee owned and operated the 71 Cattle Co. in Gisela from 1947-1963. From 1963-1972 he was assistant warehouse manager and truck driver for Pratt Gilbert. From 1972 to the present he owned and operated Morristown Grocery and Bar.

He was a life member of the Elks Club; life member of the National Rifle Association; and a member of the 65th Halbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents John S. Hardee, Sr., and Golda Fern Hardee.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Hardee of Morristown; daughters Golda Lynn Hardee and Laura Jane Carnie, both of Morristown, and Janice Jean White of Cottonwood/Clarkdale; sons Stephen Edward Holihan of Phoenix and John Shadrach Hardee III of Wickenburg; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services have been held.
