Billy Struckman

Billy was born in Akron, Ohio to Claude and Marie Struckman.

The family moved to Santa Monica, Calif. when he was nine years old. He attended schools there, where he met the love of his life, Barbara.

Joined the Marine Corps at 17, discharged in 1949, married Barbara on Feb. 11, 1950. They had four children, Sherrie, Stephen, Stacie and Michael. They were also foster parents for five more children. Bill loved all his children and was a very good dad.

He became a General Contractor in 1960 and built beautiful custom homes for the likes of Ronald Reagan, Ozzie and Harriet Nelson and the Andrew Sisters, to name a few. Bill and Barbara traveled all over the country for both business as well as pleasure in their RV.

They moved to Globe in 1998, where they became involved in community projects and attended Holy Angels Catholic Church. Bill loved his fellow parishioners and always was there to give them a hug! He had made a lot of dear and cherished friends who always enjoyed his sense of humor. Bill was a member of The American Legion as well as The Knights of Columbus and was proud to have made it to the Fourth Degree.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister Doris, not to mention his best friend Becka, his little Manchester Terrier who traveled everywhere with him.

He also is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years; his children and grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jane Snedaker of Napa, Calif.; niece, Amanda; his little puppies Bandi and Rover; and his faithful kitty, Vanessa.

His Rosary will be held at Holy Angels on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at 7 p.m. and mass will be Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at 10 a.m.
