J. Martha (Douthit) Compleman

J. Martha Compleman (Hazeltine, Blair), 84, died Sept. 24, 2014, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was born in Batavia, Illinois, on July 22, 1930, to Martha and J.C. Douthit.

She attended school in Moosehart, Illinois, and Batavia High School before graduating from Phoenix Union High School.

A creative and accomplished homemaker, Martha took awards in many bake-off contests. She had a love of music, singing, writing and playing musical pieces that she often shared in worship services.

While raising four boys, she also earned her B.A. in psychology at Chico State. Later in life, she attended Fuller Seminary and earned a Masters of Divinity degree.

She is survived by sons Craig Hazeltine (Alisa) and Leland Hazeltine (Sandra); as well as eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons Ernie and Jefferey Hazeltine.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at the Chapel of the Valley in Prescott Valley, 2215 5th St. Memorial gifts can be made to Far East Broadcasting Company, P.O. Box 1, La Mirada, CA 90637-0001; febc.org.
