Barbara Ann Waite Stock, 87, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at her home, with her husband by her side. She was born September 25, 1927.

Barbara was raised in St. Johns primarily by her mother. Her father passed away when she was 4 years old. Barbara attended elementary school and worked to help support her large family. She was employed by the local café's and also cleaned houses for several families in town.

Barbara was the 2nd youngest of 8 children born to John William Waite and Ella Beatrice Connolly. Those children were: Naomi Bertha, Robert Solomon, Laura Virginia, James Wilson, Fern Gwen, Carl Dow, and Oliver Duane. Those children were: William Emmett, Maud Ennis, Villettie Mattie, Lionel Dermont, Albert Eugene, Ivy, Lola Gladys, John Dee, and George Atwood. Barbara loved all of her siblings and often told about their hardships, but always remembered the love they had for one another.

Barbara met the love of her life, Alfred Stock, and began a wonderful life together on October 17, 1949. They were sealed for time and eternity March 30, 1954 in the Mesa Temple. Soon after their marriage, and while living in Show Low, the couple had two sons; Alfred Dan and David Earl. Alfred's job took them to Douglas, where four additional sons joined the family: Steven L., Raymond William, Ricky Lee, and Ronald Alan. The family then moved to Safford, where the children spent a good part of their childhood. Another transfer moved them to Mesa. Before her passing, Alfred and Barbara celebrated 65 years together.

Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings such as, Work Director in the Relief Society, 2nd Counselor in the Relief Society Presidency, 2nd Counselor in the Primary, and Stake Cub Scout Director. Barbara was involved in scouting for 36 years, including her children's childhood years.

Barbara loved to sing in the church choir. She had a beautiful voice and was invited to sing at many public functions, including the Arizona Governor's Convention. She was very creative and enjoyed several hobbies which included ceramics, oil painting, and sewing. She also loved family history and spent many years researching and organizing family names.

In 1989, when Alfred retired, he and Barbara moved to St. Johns, where they have spent the past 25 years enjoying family and friends. Much of that time has been devoted to serving others. One of their most cherished callings was serving two stake missions in the Concho Branch.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Alfred Stock, St. Johns; sons, David (Leah) Stock, Safford; Raymond (Mary) Stock, South Jordan, Utah; Ricky (Vicki) Stock, Tucson; Ron (Shelley) Stock, West Jordan, Utah; daughter-in-law, Jacque Stock, Safford; 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
