Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on November 27, 2014 - Francis "Dusty" Faber died peacefully on Nov. 23, 2014, with his family at his side at White Cliffs Memory Care in Kingman. He was 88 years old. Dusty was born on a farm in Waseca, Minn., to Cecelia and Henry Faber on March 9, 1926. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Nancy Murphy, and their eight children: Theonita Ketchum (Chris), Ed Faber (Lorretta), Kim Zwingelberg (Dale), Craig Faber (Sharon), Blaine Faber (Vicki), Elton Faber (Shereen), Cindy Nevland (Jens) and Aaron Faber (Amy). He was blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death is his mother, father and nine brothers and sisters. In 1943, he joined the Navy and survived the naval battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He lost his ship at sea, the USS Colhoun, from a kamikaze attack off the coast of Okinawa. He worked as an engineer on the Soo Line Railroad in Enderlin, N.D., for over 30 years. He loved woodworking, listening to music and laughter. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend who was dearly loved, and we will always keep him in our hearts. Viewing will take place from 10- 10:45 a.m. at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home on Dec. 4. Services will be held at St. Mary at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, thoughts and condolences may be made to Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, or if you wish, just donate to homeless veterans. |
