| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 27, 2001 Ila Mamie LaMar of Morristown, died June 22 in the Extended Care Unit at Wickenburg Regional Medical Center. She was 109 years old. Mrs. LaMar was born Sept. 8, 1891 in Safforville, Kansas. She moved to Arizona in 1916, and had lived in Morristown for almost 80 years, residing there since 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Horald LaMar, in 1968, and a daughter, Dorothy Tipton, in 1994. Survivors include six children, Ena McGuire and husband Erwin of Morristown, Clyde LaMar and Ruby of Heber, Howard Deloss LaMar of Congress, Ila Mae Sutherlin and husband John of Glendale, Dwight LaMar and wife Marie of Winslow, and Beverlee LaMar of Phoenix; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were conducted June 26, with burial at the Morristown Cemetery family plot. Memorial contributions can be made to Hassayampa O.E.S. Chapter No. 35, of which she was a longtime member.
