Obie N. Utz, 77, of Casa Grande died Feb. 12, 2004 at RTA Hospice In-patient House.

The graveside service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Eloy Memorial Park, with the Rev. Harvey Williamson officiating.

Mr. Utz was born March 19, 1926 in Chandler, Texas, and was a son of Mattie and Alton Utz. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked for Hanson Pump for 30 years and was a field supervisor. He enjoyed going to casinos.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Buchanan of Casa Grande; a son, Fred Utz of Apache Junction; a sister, Pauline Hughes of Casa Grande; a brother, Willie Utz of Waco, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Beth Ann Harrington; two sisters, Fern and Dovie; and four brothers, Gene Utz, Preston, Harvey and Joe Horton.
