Mary Virginia (Ginny) West passed away Dec. 13, 2014 surrounded by her
family following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in
Tarrytown, N.Y. to Irish immigrant parents, after graduation she trained
with TWA, became a flight attendant for Western Airlines and headed west
where she met and married Robert (Bob) West in Denver.

Bob and Ginny then moved to Montrose, Colo. where they raised their four
children and where Ginny worked for United Bank, D&G Bookkeeping and
Dalby Wendland & Co. as well as serving on various community boards. She
and Bob retired to Lake Havasu City in 2000. In Havasu, Ginny was a
member of the American Legion Auxiliary, board member of the HOA and was
very active in her community. Her greatest joy was being with her family
and staying involved with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her father and mother, Peter and Maureen Cassidy.

Surviving family members include her husband Bob West of Lake Havasu
City; children, Jennifer Burnet of Montrose, Colo., Laura (Jack) Kriss
of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sheila (Doug) Lind of Parker, Colo., Robert West
of Nantucket, Mass.; brothers, Peter (Arlene) Cassidy and John Cassidy
of Montrose, Colo. She also is survived by nine amazing grandchildren,
Kathryn, Erin, Mallory, Emily, Kayla, Carl, Ashley, Owen and Spencer.

A private celebration of Ginny’s life will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions to Hospice of Havasu would be greatly
appreciated. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother,
grandmother and friend as well as a woman of great character. She will
be dearly missed.

Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home &
Crematory.
