Ethel (Red) (Short) Tierney

Ethel "Red" Tierney, joined her husband Willie, in Paradise on the morning of February 22, 2004.

Red was born in McHenry, ND on July 10, 1927. She was married to Col. William P. Tierney in 1950.

She was been a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa where she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and sacristan.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Tierney (Barbara); grandchildren, Michael and Katie; brothers, Marvin Short (Barbara), Maynard Short, Lloyd Short (Linda); and sister, Joan Anderson (Lloyd); and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

Visitation and Rosary at Messinger's Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School. Rd., Scottsdale. Funeral Mass Friday at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Road, Mesa. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to the American Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85003.
