The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 5, 2001, p. A20 Harlan K. Walter of Wickenburg died Sunday evening, Nov. 25, 2001 at Hospice of the Valley in Peoria after a brief illness. He was 87. Mr. Walter was born June 11, 1914 in Lenox, Iowa, son of John William and Belle Suman Walter. He married Eloise E. Bricker on Aug. 11, 1940. She survives him along with their daughter Dianne E. Emond and her husband Pierre of Amherst, N.H. Mr. Walter also is survived by his two grandchildren, Michael C. Emond of Boston, Mass., and Laura A. Emond of Brunswick, Me. A retired employee of Ametek Corporation, Mr. Walter started with the company in Chicago, Ill, in 1933. He held a variety of management positions with the company in Chicago, New York and East Moline, Ill., retiring in 1969 as vice president and general manager of their East Moline plant. Moving to Wickenburg in 1971 with his wife, Mr. Walter was an active member of the community as a Shriner, a member of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum board and First Presbyterian Church. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Valley or to the Wickenburg Public Library Society. |
