Bernard Vaughn, 81, of Longmont, Colorado passed away at home on September 3, 2014.

Bernard was born and raised in Boulder and was a veteran who served his country during the Korean War. He was a plumber by trade, worked at the Colorado Brick Company for many years, and retired from the First United Methodist Church in Boulder where he worked maintenance at the church. Bernard was the son of Arthur Vaughn and Lula Carrol Vaughn.

Bernard is preceded in death by his wife Sally Jo Witt Vaughn; brothers Ebbert Vaughn and Ober Vaughn; and sisters Helen Vaughn, Geneva Elliston and Jessie Edna Vaughn.

He is survived by his son Vincent Vaughn; Nephew's Bruce Elliston of Boulder, Robert Vaughn of Las Vegas, Nevada, Edward Biehn of Worcester, Massachusetts; and niece's Paula Levensailor of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Sylvia Yunker of Black Canyon City, Arizona.

Those who knew Bernard can come by to pay their respects at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman St., Longmont during business hours (9:00 to 1:00) Saturday September 13, 2014 and Monday September 15, 2014 until 11:00am. A family member will be present Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm.

Private inurnment will take place at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
