Arrangements by Hampton Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Wednesday, March 04, 2015 Clifton Magee Smith "Smitty," age 75, passed away Feb. 25, 2015, at his home in Prescott under the care of Hospice Family Care. He was born Dec. 1, 1939, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, resided in Metairie, Louisiana and moved to Southern California in his late teens to race motorcycles. He became a machinist and worked in the shipyard and later did masonry work and trained race horses. In 1984, he met his wife Janis Bartlett and married in 1985. He moved to Prescott to help her run Bartlett Paint for 25 years, until retirement. They joined the Prescott Evening Lions Club, where he was honored to serve as President. One of his great joys in later life was playing poker with his buddies at the Quad City Poker Club. He is survived by his wife Janis (Jaye); daughter Tricia Konings, her husband Randy and their three children; his stepdaughter Kristy Harris and her children, Ashley and Haley. Hampton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. He is at peace and with the Lord and we give thanks for having this special, loving man in our lives. Information provided by survivors. |
