Captain Jack Crawford Dead

John Wallace, better known as Captain Jack Crawford, the poet scout, died at his home on Long Island, New York, on February 27th.

He was seventy years old, and a native of Ireland. Many people in this section knew him, Captain W. W. Bass, of this place, having been an intimate friend of his, and they were associated in many stirring activities of the early days. Captain Bass is possessed of a very fine photograph of himself and Captain Jack, dressed in their buckskins, the photograph now assuming strong historical interest.
