Ruth (Plenge) Henningsen

Ruth Henningsen, 90, a nine-year resident of Crown King, Ariz., passed away April 9, 2009, at her home in Crown King.

She was born Nov. 1, 1918, to Leo and Dora Plenge. Ruth enjoyed flowers, the outdoors, gardening and crocheting. She loved laughing and having a good time with her family.

She married John Henningsen Sept. 8, 1940, and they spent most of their married life in Hoyt Lakes, Minn., and Truth or Consequences, N.M.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her brothers Earl Plenge and Elmer Plenge.

She is survived by her three sons, Raymond Henningsen and his wife Margaret of Crown King, Ariz., Ervin Henningsen of New Castle, Wyo., and Dale Henningsen and his wife Mary of Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Gertrude Simonsen of Minnesota.

Funeral services took place 4 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Crown King Community Church with Pastor Tony Nelson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated in her memory to the Crown King Community Church, P.O. Box 404, Crown King, AZ 86343.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Sunrise Funeral Home in Prescott Valley, Ariz.
